The Waterford Chamber Annual Dinner will take place at the Tower Hotel on Friday 15th November. We are delighted to announce that this year the theme will be ‘Celebrating Waterford’ and all the good things our City has to offer, this theme will be carried through the entire evening local food producers and entertainment.
The annual Dinner is the highlight of Waterford’s business calendar and promises again to be an excellent social event with a great opportunity for networking and client hospitality. The evening will begin at 7:30pm with a Drinks Reception, followed by speeches, Dinner and entertainment.
The 2013 guest speaker is John Teeling, founder and former Chairman of Cooley Distillery, the first Irish whiskey distillery established in 100 years, sold in early 2012 to Jim Beam for $95m. He is currently Director of the Irish Whiskey Company which is majority owned by the Teeling family. He has had a long career in Irish business. In the 70s/80s he restructured a number of failing companies. In the Natural Resources sector he founded twelve Stock Exchange listed companies. He currently chairs four, having sold three in the past two years. Telling has diamond operations in Botswana and Cameroon (Botswana Diamonds), oil and gas in US, South Africa (Petrel Resources, Clontarf Energy). In Ireland his company is exploring a significant zinc discovery in Limerick (Connemara Mining). He has private interests in renewable and storage. John, who lectured in Business Administration at University College Dublin for 20 years, holds degrees from UCD (B. Comm, M. Econ. Sc), Wharton Business School in Philadelphia (M.B.A.) and a doctorate from Harvard Business School.
