14 Finalists for Wexford Has Talent Final
The seond group of Wexford Has Talent Semi Finalists took to the stage at Whites of Wexford on Saturday evening (January 31st) to battle it out for a coveted place in the final.
Welcoming the contestants, the judges David O’Brien, Sue Furlong and David ‘Stoney’ Burke and the huge audience on the night the MC George Lawlor promised a spectacular night of entertainment.
Judges on the evening David O’Brien, Sue Furlong and David ‘Stoney’ Burke welcomed each act and they combined with an audience vote decided on 7 successful finalists for a place in the Wexford Has Talent Final on Saturday, February 14.
Performers from as young as 11 took to the stage showing skills from Trad Music and Singer Songwriter performances to Comedy skills to Operatic and classical performances along with Rock Band Music and Acrobatic Gymnastics, the contestants included Cadence an enthusiastic young Rock Band, Aisling Busher a singer and guitarist from Wexford Town, 18 year old Andrew Berry a singer and guitarist from Whitebrook, 14 year old Ballet Dancer Emma Nolan from Ardcavan, Colleen Coughlan a 14 year old singer and guitarist from Bree, 11 years old Jirat O’Neill a singer from Gorey, Stand Up Comedian Hazel Devereux from Wexford town, Koloodar a Trad Music duo and also father and son Diarmuid & Fergal from New Ross.
After the interval the band ‘The Wha!’ made up of Luke Hayes, Tiernan Messitt and Rob Donnelly recommenced the show, 16 year old singer Niamh Murphy took to the stage, Tara Doyle Robinson an Acrobatic Gymnastic showcased her skills during her act ‘Unstoppable’. Tara was followed by singer Kevin Fitzharris from Barntown and Laura Donnelly a singer from Rosslare Strand and closing the show were a young Trad group made up of 5 members ‘T Avenue.’
The seven qualifiers through to the Wexford Has Talent Final on Saturday, February 14th are Andrew Berry, Jirat O’Neill, Hazel Devereux, Kevin Fitzharris, Tara Doyle Robinson, Laura Donnelly and T Avenue.
They join the Semi Final 1 qualifiers who are, Rachel Grace, Vyre, Eimear O’Donnagain, Lauren Doyle, Fit For Kings, Paul Murphy and Evey Roche for a show of 14 acts.
Organiser’s say that the standard of talent from the audition stage right through to the two semi finals is ‘incredibly high’ and that the final show which will take place on February 14th is going to be ‘superb’.
